X WRESTLING WEEKLY UPDATE MONDAY 8TH DECEMBER 2003
WERE NOW ONLINE - AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!
Finally, the waiting is over! Our website is now up and running at www.xwrestling.co.uk with further details regarding our much anticipated debut event, Revolution! Weve had more website hits in the first WEEK of December than we had for the whole of November, which is truly amazing.
Revolution takes place on Saturday April 10th, and we can now reveal that Revolution will take place at The Dome in Doncaster, South Yorkshire! Tickets for this event will go on sale in January via The Domes Box Office and via Ticketmaster, priced £15, £25 and £50. On sale dates will be released via our website and usual Internet media outlets very soon!
Our VIP packages are selling very well, with people keen to reserve their ticket before our 10% discount offer ends on December 31st. Again, visit www.xwrestling.co.uk for further information on our VIP Package. People are eager to take advantage of our 10% discount offer, and we expect most if not all of these tickets to have been snapped up before Christmas.
The suspense is finally over with regards to the VIP Meet and Greet, and we can announce that none other than former WWE superstar DLo Brown! DLo, who can now be found in NWA:TNA as well as touring Japan, will be on hand before Revolution at The Dome on April 10th for photos, autographs and to answer your questions! This will be one hell of a pre-show party in Doncaster, South Yorkshire! Availability is extremely limited, and these packages will make great Christmas gifts for friends and family.
We can also announce today that at Revolution, DLo Brown will go one-on-one with none other than AJ Styles! The history between these two individuals goes a long way back, with some memorable battles in TNA coming to mind. This match is in addition to the previously announced triple threat featuring TNAs Shark Boy vs Matt Striker vs Reckless Youth. Two amazing matches and many more to come over the next few weeks!
I was pleased that Chad Collyer got the opportunity to wrestle on television with WWE this past weekend. I got to see his tag match with Kanyon against Spanky and Paul London, and I personally thought it was Velocitys Match of the Night by a long way. I also thought Chad gave a good performance on WWE Heat, again in tag team action against The Hurricane and Rosey. The UK fans certainly have some exciting things to look forward to on April 10th at Revolution with the likes of Chad coming over.
UK fans will also get the opportunity to see both Chris Candido and Tammy Sytch at Revolution. This duo needs no introduction as both have had great success at various levels over the past decade or so. We have a great roster, nobody can doubt that. Fans in Doncaster on April 10th are in for one hell of a show.
As the company edges closer to our first event, look for us to make some huge announcements other than the front of house side of things. As well as promoting quite possibly the biggest UK show of 2004, were working extremely hard on finalising deals with companies and individuals from a production and behind the scenes aspect. We want Revolution to be THE show here in the United Kingdom, and things are certainly heading in the right direction. We know were being ambitious with our plans, but we feel as a company that if we are going to make a success of things, this was the way to do it. Putting on shows in front of 200 people benefits nobody, and too many promotions in the UK appear to be content with settling for second or third best. The FWA aside, there is nobody in the UK who has a promotion that is bringing the British industry back to where it belongs. We feel that we can play a significant part in increasing interest in professional wrestling in this country. The Dome in Doncaster will seat between 1600 and 1800, depending on the setup for production etc. We are looking for a sellout at this event, and believe it is achievable.
We have had tons of emails from the website, with people from all over the UK telling us where theyd like to see X Wrestling for future shows. Keep the emails coming in! Popular choices so far look to be Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Hull, Birmingham and London. Every email we get is read, and were working hard to ensure that the demand of the fans is met.
This is an excellent time for wrestling fans in the UK and elsewhere. Not in the UK or unable to make the trip to The Dome? Revolution will be available for DVD and VHS purchase just weeks after it takes place! See how X Wrestling is going to bring the X factor to Professional Wrestling, no matter where you live!
The UK Scene just stepped up a gear the X
factor is coming!
Teddy Hart is proving to be the most talked about superstar coming to the UK in April. We've had more emails about this guy than anybody else so far - the amount of interest he has created on the Internet in the past several weeks is amazing. I can't wait for this guy to perform to a UK crowd.
While we're on the subject of our superstars, we can announce that we've brought on board several more superstars who we feel will make 'Revolution' a wonderful night of wrestling and entertainment. They are:
AJ Styles: Do I need to tell an internet audience anything about this guy??
AJ is simply one of the best guys in the industry outside of WWE. Enough said! Personally I can't wait to see AJ in action with X Wrestling. Hopefully we can announce his match very soon, and I'm sure that fans will be talking about this match for months before AND after 'Revolution'.
Norman Smiley: Ex-WCW Hardcore champion, and a Brit too! Norman was born in Northampton, England - just a short drive from the venue for 'Revolution'. We're really pleased that Norman has shown an interest in our Company, and like AJ, are sure he'll bring the house down come April 10.
Jorge Castano: Some of the negative feedback I've received from wrestling fans is our lack of UK talent on the books. Castano is a great young high flyer, and has a great reputation in the UK. Another great addition, and Castano will definitely obtain some new fans come April 10.
Madison: Only 24yr old, and has already held several titles around the Indy scene. A native of Canada, Madison has held the NWA Women's Title amongst others. Combined with Luna Vachon, TNA's Lollipop, April Hunter and the UK's very own Poison, the women's division in X Wrestling is already shaping up to be a good one!
