Thailand Pro Wrestling Portal
Pro wrestling is certainly not the most popular sport in Thailand, Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing) is, but none the less, there is a following. One would find it hard to believe that a race that enjoys the violence of Muay Thai and the theater of multitudes of the Thai equivalent of "soapies" would not have a soft spot for pro wrestling.
On my numerous trips to Thailand, I often catch a bit of pro wrestling on network TV, and they get their fair share of pay TV, through providers such as Star TV and UTV. Many subscribers to pay TV actually receive Z Channel from Hong Kong, that is a 24 hour entertainment containing 90% pro wrestling content from Japan.
As you may imagine, the Thai's would appreciate Japanese women's wrestling. In the 80's I understand All Japan Women toured Thailand and drew decent crowds. Unfortunately for the participants, I read that the matches were conducted in a boxing ring, so the bumps would not have been what the usually are, or the ladies would have been dam sore afterward!
