Lita
Lita is one of the most talented women pro wrestlers of all time.
Updates:
April 2002
Lita suffered a serious neck injury on the first day of her "Dark Angel" shoot. She has since told friends that the injury occurred when one of the show's stunt woman dropped her on her head during a fighting scene. Lita was supposed to play a significant role on the show, but the injury caused it to be reduced. She does not know when she'll be able to return to the ring since she's having problems turning her head.
LITA INJURY WORSE THAN EXPECTED
The former Women's champion has been diagnosed with three cracks in the C6-C7
area of her vertebrae. Jim Ross said on WWF.COM that initial tests only showed
a herniated disc but a CAT Scan yesterday morning revealed something worse.
This week she will be going to San Antonio, TX., to visit Dr. Lloyd Youngblood
- the same surgeon who performed risky operations on Austin, Benoit and Rhyno
- for an evaluation. Lita got injured while taping 'Dark Angel' in Canada two
weeks ago when a stunt women mistakenly dropped her on her head. Lita, real
name Amy Dumas, was in obvious pain during the Backlash PPV match with Jeff
Hardy and Lesnar and was caught several times on camera holding her neck. She's
expected to be out for several months and if surgery is performed - which is
likely - and it could take up to a year for the member of Team Xtreme to see
action again.
